With salons in lockdown soon facing the happy prospect of opening up, we know there’s going to be a lot of scramble trying to get prepped and organised. From the staff schedules to trying to fit in as many clients as possible, all the while adhering to the safety measures BUT ALSO trying to earn as much as you can at the same time. It’s a lot to take in, but we know that with plenty of time ahead, you can definitely make it worth.
The priority will, of course, be the clients who already had appointments, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tailor your services list to offer a bigger incentive for all those who already come to the salon, and for those who might consider coming to the salon. This is a unique opportunity to do well with both parties, so you do right by the clients you already have, and perhaps acquire some new ones as well.
We thought we’d help out in the area that we can , and if that means creating a list of ideas for you to rack your brain just a tiny bit less, then we’ll be over the moon. We’ve come up with a list of re-opening packages as well as retail ideas that you could set up to maximise your return; return on your investment and your return to the salon.
1. VIP Access
If you’re not sure you’ll be able to service all clients on time, but you want to avoid disgruntled clientele, how about a VIP Access package for early booking availability? Clients could pre-pay for a package that gives them the chance to be the first ones to snatch the earliest possible appointment.
2. Snip Snip Package
Some people just want to get in and out, cut those split ends loose, have a relaxing wash and be on their way. Add in a little extra treat that might not cost you a lot except for some extra time. This will serve as a little push to book with you and NOT someone else.
- Cut + Shampoo & Conditioner + Free Treatment -
3. Colour Refresh Package
These are the appointments that are going to be the most time-consuming but also the appointment the majority will be going for. Presuming that some clients have possibly taken matters into their own hands while in lockdown these sessions might get even longer.
- Cut + Fullhead + Shampoo and Conditioner + Free Treatment -
4. Beating Lockdown Blues
Some of your clients are just going to be craving a CHANGE. A new style, something completely different, something to SHAKE THINGS UP.
- cut + shampoo and conditioner + free scalp massage + blowdry + style -
5. Come Back Package
Devise a promotion exclusively for returning clients. If you provide an incentive for your client, they are more likely to not make an appointment with another salon.
6. Loyalty Reward
This isn’t necessarily a package but a great way to retain clients. It definitely works. There’s no better way to reward your client’s loyalty. This program can be based on collected points so they reach a certain level, or on the amounts of visits they make to the salon. For example, each X amount of visits, there is an incentive.
7. Retail Revamp
With finances being so critical at this point, why not pump in extra cash into your business with some sweet retail deals? Think about it, you might have some products that you want to move, before the holiday season hits. With a retail deal, you’ll be able to do that, get the revenue up and possibly generate some new business as well.
- Buy two products, get one for 50% off. This would be ideal for the
shampoo/conditioner/mask trio.
- Encourage gift sales and gift vouchers, especially with the holidays coming.
- Spend X on retail products and get X of credit for your next salon visit.
