Step-By-Step Social Media Planning

Step-By-Step Social Media Planning

We know a lot of you are just getting started with social media, and we KNOW it can be complicated and confusing. Just when you think you’ve done something, you realise you’re not doing something right. It can be frustrating, and it can make you want to quit, but don’t. Organic engagement with your audience on social media will help your business grow because everyone is on social media!

With this step-by-step, we’ll help you focus and establish your strategy.

Determine Your Purpose

Every business has to have a mission. Before you get on social media, make sure you know what his mission is. What are the core pillars of your business/brand? This will shape your entire online strategy.

Establish Business Goals

If you think about the bigger picture, what is do you see? What is the ultimate goal? What do you want to achieve and how will you be able to do that using social media?

Establish The Target Audience

Think about your ideal client:

  • Where are they located?
  • What age are they?
  • What are their habits, behaviour?

Watch & Study Your Audience

When creating content, it has to always take your audience in mind. It’s easy to fall in the trap of wanting to showcase your product/service in the best possible light. But always think about how this will benefit your potential client.

Make sure to tailor the content towards the audience you want to attract. If you’re looking to attract a younger audience, your content should be entertaining, following the latest trends, and you should be using the platforms where the audience is.

Brainstorm & Prepare Concepts

Brainstorm ideas. Take a paper and a pen, or open Google Docs. Write down concepts you like, ideas that you can execute. If you have an epiphany about what you can do in the middle of the day, take your phone notes and write them down.  Always go back to this document to create new content, remove or add ideas. This will help you when you get stuck for content down the line, and it does happen, to all of us.

Create Content

Finally, we’ve come to the most important part. Creating the content. We always recommend creating content a month in advance, or at least for the next two weeks. Take a couple of hours during the weekend or free days, create and schedule your content to maintain consistency.

If you’re stuck on time, we can help. From designing the look of your feed, to writing the captions and scheduling content for you, we can help. You choose what you need help with, and we’ll be on it.

Analyse the Results

One of the most important things is to analyse what you’re doing. Posting isn’t enough, it’s important to analyse what your audience loved and didn’t love, and tailor your strategy towards that.
